How does
Primary Care work?
Annual physical well exams
Now is a great time to get your annual physical well exam. Health Xpress Medical Center offers physicals for new patients with or without insurance. This is a comprehensive physical examination that includes a review of medical and family history, height, weight, blood pressure check, screenings for diabetes and high cholesterol levels, and more.
Hereditary Cancer Testing
The Hereditary Cancer Test is a diagnostic genetic test that can help estimate your risk of developing cancer. The test searches for specific changes in your genes, chromosomes, or proteins that may indicate an increased risk for cancer. This testing is usually recommended when certain types of cancer run in the family and a gene mutation is suspected. The test is available for many types of cancer, including breast, ovarian, colon, thyroid, prostate, pancreatic, melanoma, sarcoma, kidney, and stomach cancer. If you have a family history of cancer or are concerned about your risk for the disease, the Hereditary Cancer Test can give you valuable information about your risks. Ask a provider at Health Xpress Medical Center if this test is right for you.
Age-appropriate screenings
(breast cancer, colon cancer, prostate cancer, cervical cancer, osteoporosis)
Health Xpress Medical Center Primary Care providers recommend that all adult patients receive age-appropriate screenings. Contact us today to find out what screenings should be done based on your age.
Flu Vaccine
You do not need to see a provider to receive the vaccine. Health Xpress Medical Center offers the flu shot at our Las Vegas and Henderson locations. We offer $30 flu vaccines to patients without insurance.
Routine blood work
Blood can tell you a lot about your organs, diet, metabolism, illness, and if you have certain diseases. Routine lab work can detect illnesses before it’s too late. As a result, we urge our patients to get routine blood work done. A routine blood test may be performed to verify that nothing has changed in your health since your last healthy test result and should be done once a year, along with your annual check-up.
Referrals to specialists
If you need a specialist, our primary care providers can refer you to one. Specialists are medical providers who have received additional training in a specific area of medicine. To obtain further treatment with a specialist, most insurance carriers require that you get a referral from primary care. Our referral professional will work with your insurance and specialist to streamline the referral procedure as much as possible.
